DIENTE DE LEÓN
El DIENTE DE LEÓN, conocido también como achicoria amarga y meacamas.
Se trata de una de las plantas medicinales, con efectos importantes y probados para nuestra salud.
A su vez, ha sido utilizada desde hace miles de años para infinidad de dolencias.
PROPIEDADES DEL DIENTE DE LEÓN
En primer lugar, es una excelente fuente de vitaminas tales como la A, la C, E y la K, también contiene vitaminas del grupo B, en menor cantidad.
Al mismo tiempo, contiene inulina, que es el tipo de fibra más beneficiosa para nuestra flora intestinal.
También es rica en minerales tales como el magnesio, calcio, hierro, silicio y potasio.
Las propiedades medicinales más destacables del DIENTE DE LEÓN, se debe a la combinación de compuestos antioxidantes y antiinflamatorios.
Estos compuestos son, el betacaroteno, polifenoles, ácido chicórico, taraxinico, y el fitol.
Además y gracias a estos compuestos regula el metabolismo, ayuda a regular los niveles de azúcar en la sangre.
Al mismo tiempo, reduce la absorción de las grasas, reduce el colesterol.
Estimula la secreción de insulina.
Por otro lado, regenera el hígado, esta planta tiene la capacidad de regenerarlo y protegerlo de tóxicos y de grasas.
En estudios realizados in vitro, se ha demostrado que el extracto de la raíz del diente de león, tiene la capacidad de reducir de forma drástica del crecimiento de células cancerosas tanto en el hígado como en el colon, la piel, la sangre.
Su contenido en inulina prebiótica ayudan a tener buenas digestiones además de tratar y prevenir el estreñimiento.
Al mismo tiempo, tiene propiedades antivirales y antimicrobianas.
Los compuestos antioxidantes que contiene en hojas y flores, potencian la regeneración de la piel, trata los daños producidos por las radiaciones solares y el acné.
Por último, reduce la irritación y aumenta la producción de colágeno.
USOS Y MODO DE EMPLEO
Su uso más común, es en infusiones.
Para prepararla nada más fácil que poner una cucharada por taza de agua a hervir, una vez empieza la ebullición, apartar del fuego y dejarla reposar durante unos minutos infusionando.
Tanto las hojas, como las flores y los tallos, se comen crudos, bien en ensaladas o incluso en tortillas.
Por último, posee muy baja toxicidad, pero como cualquier alimento puede producir intolerancias o alergias.
Consultar al médico si se toman medicamentos diuréticos o antibióticos.
IMPORTANTE
Puede contener trazas de apio, mostaza, sésamo y frutos cáscara.
