MENTA PIPERITA
En primer lugar, la MENTA PIPERITA, es un híbrido obtenido del cruce de la menta acuática y la hierbabuena, esta se produce espontáneamente en regiones templadas.
A su vez, ha sido cultivada desde hace siglos, por su riqueza en componentes aromáticos.
Por otro lado, esta planta aromática puede utilizarse directamente fresca cómo seca para su mejor conservación.
PROPIEDADES DE LA MENTA PIPERITA
Para empezar, y gracias a los aceites esenciales y también los flavonoides de la MENTA PIPERITA, adquiere diferentes propiedades beneficiosas.
Una de estas propiedades, es su efecto carminativo, es decir, evita la formación y acumulación de gases en el cuerpo y ayuda a su expulsión.
Al mismo tiempo tiene un efecto antiespasmódico, evitando las contracciones de los músculos.
También ayuda a cortar el vómito.
Por otro lado, tiene propiedades coleréticas, lo que significa que activa la producción de bilis, como función hepática.
La MENTA PIPERITA también tiene la propiedad de evitar y de calmar el dolor.
A menudo se utiliza su infusión para trastornos tanto digestivos cómo hepáticos.
A su vez, su aceite esencial se aplica tópicamente en la nariz para aliviar la sinusitis, también en las sienes para el dolor de cabeza, incluso en el pecho o en inhalaciones tanto para resfriados como para la tos.
Además, aplicado en compresas, alivia las picaduras de insectos y de alguna irritación dérmica.
Para los alérgicos al Mentol, su aceite esencial no es recomendable, ya que pueden producir insomnio, irritabilidad y espasmos bronquiales.
Tampoco deben usar este aceite los niños menores de dos años, ni mujeres embarazadas o en época de lactancia.
La MENTA PIPERITA, es una planta aromática rica en fibra, y no contiene colesterol.
También es una buena fuente de minerales tales como el calcio, hierro, magnesio y el potasio.
Al mismo tiempo contiene vitaminas del grupo B como la B6 y la B12, la vitamina C, la A y también la D.
USOS EN LA COCINA
La MENTA PIPERITA, se consume como bebida en forma de infusión.
También se utiliza por su aroma y sabor en helados, caramelos y chicles.
Por supuesto, en preparaciones de repostería.
A su vez podemos utilizarla también para preparar aderezos o aliños para ensaladas.
En caldos y sopas queda perfecta para aromatizar y dar frescura.
A su vez, para el adobo de carnes tanto de caza y como de cordero.
En la gastronomía inglesa se utiliza mucho la MENTA PIPERITA , para preparar una salsa con sus hojas frescas.
En Ibiza se confeccionan unos pasteles de queso de cabra con trozos de menta, entre otras cosas.
También la podemos encontrar en la fabricación de licores.
IMPORTANTE
Puede contener trazas de apio, mostaza, sésamo y frutos cáscara.
