SAL MALDON
SAL MALDON o sal en escamas.
Este tipo de sal, es muy utilizado por chefs profesionales de todo el mundo.
A su vez, recurren a ella tanto por su pureza como por su intenso sabor.
Aunque este tipo de sal esté en boca de todos en estos tiempos, la SAL MALDON tiene su historia.
Por otro lado, esta sal ya aparecía en escritos allá por el año 1086, fecha en la que ya existían varias sartenes de evaporación, dedicadas a la producción de sal en escamas.
De igual forma, la SAL MALDON, recibe este nombre del lugar donde se produce, Maldon.
Marismas llanas y mareas limpias junto a bajas precipitaciones, se traducen en alta salinidad y el lugar perfecto para iniciar esta compañía, MALDON SALT, en 1882.
PROPIEDADES
En primer lugar, este tipo de sal se caracteriza por su elaboración artesanal.
Tanto su pureza, su textura escamosa como por su potente y nítido sabor, que realza el de cualquier alimento.
Por otro lado, se debe utilizar en menos cantidad ya que su pureza es superior a la sal común.
Al mismo tiempo, es capaz de disolverse con mucha facilidad, por lo que se suele incluir al final, antes de servir la comida.
La SAL MALDON, es muy baja en sodio, una cualidad que puede reducir el riesgo de hipertensión, ayudando a prevenir tanto ictus, como cardiopatías y enfermedades similares.
A su vez, tiene un gran aporte de magnesio, un mineral que interviene en distintas reacciones químicas y puede ayudar a rebajar la hipertensión, también el insomnio y la depresión.
También, es una gran fuente de yodo, un macromineral que interviene en la síntesis de las hormonas tiroideas, además, estimula el metabolismo, regula el nivel de energía y por último, facilita la quema del exceso de grasa corporal.
USOS DE LA SAL MALDON
Tanto la carne y el pescado, como las verduras a la plancha o a la parrilla, son los alimentos que mejor combinan con este condimento.
Por otro lado, debe emplearse justo antes de servir el plato, ya que pierde rápidamente su textura.
IMPORTANTE
Puede contener trazas de apio, mostaza, sésamo y frutos cáscara.
